Howard breaks free throw attempts record

Dwight Howard broke Wilt Chamberlain's nearly 50-year-old NBA record for most free throw attempts in a game, making 21 of 39 in the Orlando Magics 117-109 victory over the Golden State Warriors on Thursday night. Dwight howard has been the most dominant center in the league since he joined the NBA but has never been good at free throws. The Warriors decided to try to take advantage of his poor free throw shooting. He attempted 39 free throws which was 5 past the 50 year old record of Wilt Chamberlin. Howard eclipsed his old mark of 24 with 3 minutes left in the third quarter.
