Electric Cigarette explodes in someones mouth
An electronic cigarette blew up in a Florida mans face, leaving him in a hospital with severe burns, missing his front teeth and a chunk of his tongue. Fire officials said Wednesday that the man had switched to electronic cigarettes to try and quit smoking, and that the scary situation was caused by a bad battery. The man said the battery also flew out and set the closet on fire. The man was in his house when it exploded leaving burned carpet behind.He agreed to let firefighters take the burned case and other ones with them as examples for reporting to a national database.
TCU players says drug use was widespread on the team
TCU football players told undercover officers that drug use was used among the team, according toevidence released Wednesday after the arrest of 18 people including four players on drug charges.The details are disclosed in their arrest warrant are a blow to one of the most respected programs in college football and one expected to contend for the Big 12 title in its first season in the league.Police say that four players linebacker Tanner Brock, defensive lineman D.J Yendrey offensive tackle Ty Horn and cornerback Devin Johnson sold marijuana to students and football players. They have been kicked off the team.

Tiny Chamaleons found
A species of chameleon small enough to easily sit on a match head has been discovered on a tiny island off madagascar.In addition to the discovery of Brookesia Miacra is now the tiniest chameleon ever found the researchers also announced the discovery of three additional tiny species.Adult males of the species grow to only just over a halfinch from there nose to the bottom of them. From nose to tail the adults in both species only grow to a inch. One researcher said they found some already but he said the main reason "but it was also good luck."

Mars Mission possibly canceled
NASA budget for the next year is likely to include deep cuts to planetary science programs, forcing the space agency to withdraw altogether from an international effort to send two new missions to Mars experts say. Barack Obama is going to submit his administrations federal budget request for the year 2013 on Monday. The amount of money given to NASA is unkown. The cuts will probably make NASA go out of the european space agency led exomars missions which aim to launch an orbiter and a drilltoting rover to Mars in 2016 and 2018. The cuts will most likely be on some robots that will be sending to mars.

U.S. drone strike early Thursday in northwest Pakistan killed a top Pakistanian Taliban commander also serving as a key Al Qaeda militantt local officials said.The predawn strike occurred in North Waziristan, the violent tribal region that serves as sanctuary for several militant groups, including the Pakistani Taliban and the wing of the Afghan Taliban known as the Haqqani network. The entire genome of an extinct human was reconstructed from a 30,000-year-old finger bone and posted on the web Tuesday. Scientists at a german institute said they were able to sequence the genome of a Denisovan using DNA extracted from less than 10 milligrams of the finger bone. Fossils of the denovins which are closely related to the neandarathals.A year ago, researchers published the first rough draft of the genome of an archaic girl who lived in Denisova Cave in siberia from at least 30,000 years ago. One of the scientists said " the genome is very high quality" said one of the scientists.

New York Giants celebrate after super bowl win
Thousands of fans screamed as New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning hoisted the teams Super Bowl trophy from a bright float Tuesday as the victory parade made its way down the Canyon of Heroes, where the city has honored stars for almost a century.The parade set off from the southern tip of Manhattan and moved slowly north to City Hall as fans dressed head-to-toe in Giants gear cheered and confetti wafted slowly down from the high-rises that line the street. The Giants got the win in super bowl 46 against the New England Patriots 21-17 in a rematch from 2007 that went down to the minute.

While the economy added nearly a quarter million jobs last month and the unemployment rate fell to its lowest level in three years, House Republicans slammed President Obama for not doing more to get it back on track faster.The Labor Department said the economy added 243,000 new jobs in January and the jobless rate dropped from 8.5 percent to 8.3 percent, but Republicans said that's no "Reagan recovery.""The jobs numbers today are certainly welcome news.
